What’s the first impression you want to give people?
An appearance of friendly intelligence is the impression I want to foster.
My sense of self is underlined when I can highlight my sense of humor.
Just a tad never too much

It’s a dance from the 1800s, I think. Or maybe more like from around 1912. I do know it’s not the Fox trot or a waltz or the Lindy.
We danced to a ridiculously fast waltz from Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty at our wedding. As Thanksgiving approaches and I reflect, I am grateful for all that.
The dances we’ve had. The dances we have seen. The ones we know and those we wish we could execute to perfection.

My MR experience today inspired me to choreograph an MRI dance.
Set to the electronic pings, rings, and zings of the cocoon like machine, my dance begins with a darkened stage.
A spotlight falls on each of 3 bundled figures, lying a few feet apart.
As the scene brightens, the first dancer raises his right leg in an arc to the center of his body and over past the right.
The one in the middle sheds her wrapping and pulls up onto her toes, then flat on her heel. She turns to face the last supine figure.
He also unwraps and then rolls to his left. Cat stretch to downward dog and up slowly, sensuously allowing each vertebrae to wriggle to standing.
When all three are standing, they march in a circle that turns into a conga.
The electro-pop of the MRI sets a rhythm for their movement throughout.
Relaxing, the light follows them as they dance off.
What brands do you associate with?
There are things, services, and people that are good. Then there are those that are [or do] good for you. They are not necessarily branded, although this one uses an email brand that’s on point.
This article is in praise of a particular podiatrist. First, I want to thank her for the good service provided over many years.
Since feet are our transportation, you don’t want to experience unnecessary discomfort. Your podiatrist can do you a world of good.
Join me in welcoming Dr. Neda Khoobyar, myfootdoctor@gmail.com, to my immediate neighborhood.
She is moving into the medical spaces at 341 East 79th Street Suite 309 as we speak. You may want to save the welcome wagon for next week. Or give her a call or text at +12126793131.

Addendum: I visited the medical space at 341 East 79th Street (Ste 309) today and found it quaint and charming.

There are any number of professional psychologists at the location.
I attribute the bathroom design to Dr. Neda’s neighbors.
Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.

We invent holidays for the sheer commerce of it. National Pizza Day or maybe International Coffee ☕️ Day are tailored to our eating the one and drinking the other.
My friend S introduced me to the delights of Chai, so if it has not yet been honored, let’s raise our glass to it.
“Chai to you. Chai to me.”

Living on the wrong side of the marathon route has been nearly a lifelong practice. The November event was initiated in 1970.
For most of the lifetime of the NYC annual run, I lived on the far side of York Avenue.
I came to develop strategies to circumvent the runners’ path.
Some years, that was an extremely difficult task. The M31 didn’t run at all one of those Sundays.
Fortunately, that was not the case the year I got a ticket for a City Center Encores! performance. The walk there would have entailed getting up and out extra early.
One year, I did walk down York to 57th Street to a supermarket on the other side of 1st Avenue. It’s clear below the bridge, and I could get across town from that point.
This year, I witnessed the Friday night fireworks that kicked off the festivities before the marathon.
The noise first alerted me. When I looked up, swirls of exploding colors decorated the skies above our rooftop view.

Maybe it’s just that I associate both “treat” and “trick” with your pup that I have come with a brilliant new meme for Halloween.
“Tricks for Treats!”
Get it?

Early voting is a wonderful concept. It takes pressure off the voting site. It relieves the voter of a deadline.

I took the opportunity for a very relaxing early morning vote.
Describe a family member.
I had a cousin who was glamorous and witty.
She had a special place in my heart.
I will always think of her and miss her deeply.
