How do you use social media?
Isn’t it more like anti-social? I stole that from somebody, the «anti» part and couldn’t think of any cleverer.
In truth my relationship to media is more social than not. I use blogs to connect, communicate, commix!
Once I’ve posted my opinions in long form, I use social media to spread the words. What I say here, I «advertise» on LinkedIn, and FB, and often on Bluesky or Substack. So many outlets.
What job would you do for free?
Retirement puts a different spin on this question.
In retirement, jobs are often done without compensation. We get the title “volunteer” while undertaking such work.
In my retirement, I’m volunteering as an Alzheimer’s support group co- facilitator.
It is actually a job that I would volunteer to do, even if I were not retired.
What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?
Neil deGrasse Tyson says first thing, drink cold water.
If NdGT tells me it’s good for me, I am inclined to go along. Today was day one of this routine.

Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
Do we have a spirit animal? Do I?
Should I envision myself as half-maddened by the light of a bright, beautiful moon? Shall I be moonstruck or sun-dappled?
Which animal would those images elicit? A wolf, a dog? A moo cow, a window lazying cat?
If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?
That he is loved, of course. I don’t have a pet. I used to and I know I always loved them.
And same goes for these pets belonging to other people, my pets by proxy:
They are adorable and adored, not just me but by their proud pet moms and dads, of course.
What is your favorite animal?
Llama? I was going to say llama, then remembered they spit. Which is not very nice.
You’re probably hoping to hear dog, or cat, puppy or kitty. These are domesticated. Pets. Homey.
Truth to say, I have to admit to liking both.
Are you more of a night or morning person?
No one ever offers you an option to be a day person. I like midday.
Is that… OK?
What are your two favorite things to wear?
Fashion is fleeting. Or, at least, it has defleeted me.
I have always been found of color coordination.
Maroon, from stem to stern, for instance, if not maroon and forest green.
My favorite color is red, a red t- shirt under a red fleece jacket covered by a red vest.
If we’re restricted to two items, it’s the fleece and vest. That’s winter wear, and right now it’s winter!
There is, I now know, only the right now.
Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?
You know that feeling when, yes, you want to take a pause, but the stay-at-home feels like a sick day.
You started off needing a rest, but as you rested, you began to feel warm, tired. It’s almost as if that day off made you sick.
As if you did not deserve a quiet day at home, the day became a day of recovery.
Taking a sick day, eh?, well, you better be sick then. You may as well be sick if you’re just gonna be lazing around.
What could you do more of?
It’s a long list. A comic, like Jon Stewart, would attribute that to my being Jewish.
We Jews are guilt-builders so there’s always more. In fact, just interpreting the question is guilt inducing….
What could I do more of? Every positive thing I ever did, I need to do more of that.
