Describe your dream chocolate bar.

Nuts are the not so secret ingredient that meets my chocolate fantasies. Small pieces of nuts as in the Baci from Perugina are the epitome of sweet deliciousness. It’s the crunch that takes goodness to greatness.

Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

My memory is spotty, but I remember loving a biography of Mickey Mantle taken from the school library in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.
In retrospect, I realize it should have been placed in the congratulatory fiction category, but it was inspiring. To this day, I can’t shake my true admiration for number 7.
My love for sports themed storytelling has also stayed with me. I’ve just repositioned it onto film.
What fears have you overcome and how?
I climb to the very top of my step ladder these days. It’s an exercise in balance and a way of overcoming the fear of heights.

Well, yes, a shortcut to fighting the fear. The step ladder is not all that high. I attain the second step with some difficulty. I rummage at the top of my cabinets. When I descend, I am happy for my accomplishment.
Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

There is joy in appreciation and in being able to communicate it. I don’t want to overthink my motivation or undervalue simplicity. Putting pen to paper (even metaphorically via my keyboard) is a much appreciated simple joy.
So much of what I write is random. Thank you for letting me share those serendipitous rambling thoughts with you.
How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?
If I knew when the time to unplug was ripe, I don’t think I would have been checking for prompts at 12 am

That said, my timing has improved over time. And I write for the sake of my best mental health.
What quality do you value most in a friend?

Friends are a truly precious commodity.
They are our connection.
They form our community.
What do I expect from my friends when they already give so much?
Loyalty. Helpfulness. Friendship. Confidence. Sharing. Laughter. Support. Comfort.
What jobs have you had?
Lots.
I would posit that a job is a good thing.
Do you practice religion?
No. I put all my faith in atheism. And am grateful for all good things and kind people.
Do you remember life before the internet?
Do you mean when we had to write a letter rather than send an email? Or remember the name of that actor from Mash without looking on a tablet or phone?
It’s a blur, which is strange because I am old enough to go back to that half century ago before Desk Set.
What are you good at?
Modesty forbids that I brag.
I am old enough to provide some self-assessment, however.
For years I labored at this and at that. Most often, in a serendipitous career, I was successful.
But when asked so directly where my talent lies, I have to answer I am good at my passion.
Writing my thoughts, opinions and ideas for you.
